To change the style of the stroke or fill, click in the rectangle to the right of Stroke: or Fill: to bring up the Color, Gradient or Pattern dialog. In “Styles” you can choose the colours and style you would like to use for Stroke (the outline of the text) and Fill (the inside of the text). A negative value moves your lines closer together, while a positive value moves your lines further apart. A value of zero specifies the default, or normal, amount of space between the lines. The name refers to the strips of lead used to add space between lines on printing presses. LeadingĬontrols the amount of vertical space between lines. If you want standard spacing, just check the Auto Kern box. (NOTE: You have to select some or all of your text first!) Useful for stretching a word to fill a whole line. KerningĬontrols the amount of horizonal space between the letters of your selected text. Lets you select the (vertical) size of the text in points, which are 72nds of an inch. Lets you choose the font to use for this piece of text from all of the fonts installed on your computer. All your changes will be preserved this way.Let’s start by looking at some of the options in the dialog box. Give it a snazzy name, then close the app. If you’ve made customisations to your palettes and their respective placements, save your workspace under File – Workspace. PaintShop Pro will remember the workspace you’ve last used and load it up on your next launch. You can set your preference for how PaintShop Pro shall greet you under the Tabs section in the same menu. There’s a section called Miscellaneous, with an option to Disable the Splash Screen.
Head over to File – Preferences – General Program Preferences. Thankfully there are ways to configure this behaviour, albeit somewhat hidden. This gets old fast, especially when you’re being peppered with sales nag screens every time you open the programme. PaintShop Pro is trying to help new users by giving them lots of choices when the app launches.
